| Another win for Joey in tough PI weekend |
 |
(23/5/2009 at 9:49:16 AM) TEAM BRM Driver Joey Foster has continued to lead the Formula 3 Australian Drivers Championship after recording his fourth win from six races, last weekend at Phillip Island.
In challenging conditions and on the home turf of nearest rival Tim Macrow, Foster qualified on the second row for both races but in the first 14-lap affair, held in wet conditions, the Team BRM car was in a class of one.
Joey made a good start and followed Macrow for the first few laps before sprinting away to win by more than 15 seconds, his fourth win from five starts in 2009. In race two he was involved in an unfortunate turn-two accident with Mat Sofi that left his Dallara stranded at turn two with a damaged front suspension / corner.
Though Macrow won the race, Foster continues to lead the championship by a comfortable 18 points and will test his car at Winton prior to the next round of the championship, to be held at the Benalla circuit, on June 26 – 28.
